What a great idea! I wonder if there is something like that in San Diego? I attended a dinner once held by students in the hotel hospitality industry. It was part of their final grade. Definitely need to support our rising stars!

I love the idea of soup shooters. Did you actually drink them like a tequila shot or did you use a spoon? I really hope a spoon! I wonder how long they poached their pears for to get them so dark? What a fun, fun evening!

You are right, my boys are itching with anticipation for Halloween. They are going to be Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, "so they can fight" (their words). Although my little one may change his mind at the last minute and don the Batman costume I made him for his birthday a few months ago. I think the site of himself in the Darth Vader costume scared him a little. Ha ha!
