Happy to share!
We fell in love with David Burke in New Jersey. So for my mother’s Las Vegas 75th Birthday Weekend we were excited to take her to lunch at his restaurant in The Venetian. Again, we were totally impressed with the food, the service, and the ambiance.
I’m excited about the new camera I bought last month, a Canon EOS Rebel XS. I think there is a distinct difference between these photos and the ones I took at Fromagerie. Working with this camera is turning out to be a terrific learning experience. The only drawback is that it is quite cumbersome to lug around Vegas, especially when trying to maneuver my big purse at the blackjack tables! But that didn’t stop me from bringing it to restaurants Guy Savoy and Alex. So please stay tuned for more fabulous Vegas food!
Hi Lori
Loved the clicks from the new camera..they are really very astounding …and you vist to David Burke’s restaurant appears to be quite memorable on your mother’s birthday.
I love how Vegas has now become a food hub. Better for me. Now I have a reason to go. This food sounds very delicious and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your mom.
Fabulous images! 🙂
I hope you don’t mind if I take a bite. 😉
I have never seen a miniature Heinz bottle before!
Enjoy the visit with your mother,
and try to hold on to your purse!
I was just thinking (before reading the last paragraph) that the pictures look really nice considering that you were probably in a dimly lit restaurant. I mean – they look nice regardless of the lighting, but I know how much trouble I have taking a decent picture when going out for dinner.
The photos turned out just as good as I’m sure the food was. And how nice of you to share 😀
Happy B-day to your mother!
Wow. I could eat like this every day. I am just so disappointed in many of the restaurants around here lately. Can’t wait to see the other pics.
I love all the culinary adventures available in Vegas. Definitely worth another trip soon!
definitely a great meal you have there… cheers to your mom 🙂
Hi Noni – I am definitely enjoying getting to know my new camera. Thanks!
MLV – Vegas has all the top chefs. It is a foodie’s dream!
Hi Merisi – Chef Burke uses lots of whimsy in his dishes. You should see what he does with eggs. My purse was a burden but the photos were worth it 🙂
Hi Psychgrad – that is one reason I bought a new camera, dinner out photos were coming out grainy. Thanks!
Hi Lore – I am hoping these pics did justice to the Chef’s food!
Hi Nicole and Bridgett and Mikky- Vegas is the place to eat for sure!
Yup – defintiely a place I’d love to have a meal!

Your new camera rocks!
Ahhh the life of a professional photographer, I would have willingly lugged it for you ha! ha! Love the honey poppy seed rendition and all your dishes are picture perfect! Funny I just made a Polish coffee bread with poppy seeds!
I’m so glad your happy to share because I wouldn’t be able to decide on a “single” menu choice! They all look so wonderfully outrageous!
Although that chicken club with lemon aioli would be perfect for lunch today!
Gorgeous Food! I love the Cesar shrimp salad.
everything looks both fresh + savory….what a great time.
Your canon rebel looks fab!
Congrats on your new camera. Awesome-looking photos. Food looks really good.
