Eating Las Vegas by Day

I’ve been back to Las Vegas twice in the past 2 months to visit my gracious youngest sister and my accommodating and affable brother-in-law, and to explore the possibility of purchasing a little house there. I really appreciate spending time with them. I like the desert. I like the wide open feel and the view of the mountains. I also like The Strip and gaming, the spas, the shopping. And most of all, the dining!

Over the years we’ve been fortunate to have eaten dinner at so many of the top restaurants with their world-renowned chefs (recent review of Julian Serrano here). But I equally enjoy the hotel cafés. I like to sit outside overlooking the pool in the early morning with a cup of coffee, and read a magazine with a warm dry desert breeze a blowing…

Even after playing Blackjack well into the evening, I always wake up early and head down to the hotel café. Accurate time stamps on the photos are thanks to digital photography.

Have you noticed that all the Coffee Shops here are no longer called that? It’s Café.

Mon Ami Gabi @ Paris Hotel and Casino

Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Hotel is perpetually our favorite place for lunch. With its authentic French bistro menu, open-air seating, and views of The Strip and fountains at the Bellagio, it is one very popular spot!

  1. i just wanted to say that i have eaten at cafe vettro, twice when i was in las vegas and the food is excellent and very fresh, also i ate at jean george’s steak house the food there is over the top and very, very good. i had the sea-bass with the shitake mushrooms, and the creamed spinich very creamy and very good. the potatoes were excllent, my daughter had the salmon and her boyfriend had the filet migon steak 8 oz. the over-all experience was 5 stars.

  2. We love visiting Las Vegas. There are so many excellent restaurants and bakeries. It’s a foodie’s playground. How did you like the M Resort…they have a wine tasting room (it’s always closed when we go)? {sigh} wish there was time for a trip that way soon. It would be great to have a place there to visit often.

I’m not a big “buffet” fan, but he Paris Hotel & Casino has the Le Village Buffet which hosts a fantastic breakfast/brunch with made to order crepes and eggs/omeletts. Also, over at “M” the Terzetto Restaurant was very good.

    1. Hi Cristina – the wine cellar was closed when I was there too, but I’m going back in a couple weeks, would love to try it! I like the M, and it is close to the little house I am building there.
