Choosing a Passover dish to share with The Shiksa was easy. After rolling over a thousand matzoh balls between my palms over the last decade, it is this fluffy beloved dumpling of Passover that I must share at the Potluck.
But mine is not an ordinary matzoh ball, this one is infused with saffron. Lots of saffron. So beyond their beautiful rich color, these matzoh balls taste exotic, mysterious. Perfect for the retelling of our ancient story…

I hate to admit I’ve never tried Matzoh Ball Soup but this makes me want to try it out. It looks gorgeous and I bet the saffron is lovely in it. Tori was the one who introduced me to saffron, I’d never used it before. It’s a wonderful breathe of fresh air. So glad to meet you through the potluck. Look forward to getting to know you better.

I have some good memory with Matzoh balls. My mom was an exchange student in high school and stayed with a Jewish family in Seattle. Her host mom made great Matzoh balls back then. The past 40+ years our families kept in touch and visited each other and I had tried her famous Matzoh balls one time. The grandma passed away last year a few days after our visit but I still remember the delicious meal she prepared. I didn’t get a chance to learn how to make it but I’m going to check out your recipe. Looks beautiful and delicious!
Oh what a fabulous idea. Taking the matzo ball to another level. This is akin to the canederli one finds in Northeastern Italy. I will be trying this with my Italian saffron.
